I teach a wide array of music to all students with an emphasis on technique developed through classical repertoire. All students are exposed to many types of music.

I hold "lesson parties" where several students perform in a small, intimate setting. Also, I encourage and support student performance at churches, nursing homes and other accessible locations.

Ms. John performs regularly in the NYC area with choirs, orchestras, in private ceremonies and celebrations. She can be heard on the Amadeus Chorale's CDs "Lullabies and Butterflies" and "A Christmas Quilt".

Ms. John's teaching style focuses on building a solid technique while exploring music theory and history. Each student has opportunities to compose, improvise, learn standard repertoire and develop musicianship skills in weekly lessons.
