Harp Tickles
by Harpists and Harp Teachers

Strings Went Ping, Ping Ping!

I'm a musician/artist, poor, rent an old beat-up studio apartment. Just enough room for my twin bed, a desk...it's 10'x15'.

Anyway, I play the Veracruz harp. It's got no case.

I walk in, leaned the harp against something, sort of tripped, the harp fell, I was falling and had one second to decide to fall "pushup" style on the harp, so as not to crunch the whole harp, or one foot goes through the strings. Well being 6'2" and about 250lbs, AND about 48 years at the time, I decided, "one! foot goes through the strings" And the strings went "ping, ping, ping." And yes I saved the harp AND me too. That's my story.
